Lots of things

hero (:
I am very sad that Tiger is out for the rest of the year. We love watching him play and with my utter disgust for Phil Michelson I don't know how I will stand the rest of the season without him. I am glad he is getting his knee taken care of and am amazed that he pulled off quite the victory in so much pain.

It has been a rough day. Alex decided to pour out 4 large bottles of powder paint onto the kitchen floor this morning while Aidan and I were watching Baby Einstein. I kept very calm though and cleaned everything up although it took about an hour of bleaching the kitchen floor and steam cleaning the carpet to remove the lovely red, orange, blue, and brown coloring. Thank goodness I also remembered that it is washable if you add detergent... We ended up going ahead with our adventure to the park and had a wonderful time. Alex however got a HUGE splinter in his foot so we had to go to Walgreen's for drawing salve.

My Walgreen's trip is really why I am writing. We entered Walgreen's and a Man was standing by the carts checking out the Walgreen's sales and carefully looking at every water bottle in the stand. I realized immediately that he had some time of Mental disorder. I carefully pushed his cart a little forward and took another one kindly saying, "Excuse me," and then moving his back to its original position. We went on during our trip getting detergent since I am now out and drawing salve for the splinter. We crossed paths again with the Man and said, "Excuse me," and on my way to the check out counter I saw him just standing there. He was waiting for us just to say, "Have a nice evening." I saw the person who was accompanying him smile as he let me go first through the checkout. I walked out remembering the one reason why I loved my job, the patients. They would get out of bed just to say hello as I entered the unit and would stay in the community room just to tell me good-bye. I also however thought how lucky I am to be able to spend this time with the kids. I have never had to leave Aidan without saying good-bye and am blessed with 3 people waiting to tell me good-morning and good-night. I know I will go back to working one day and I want it to be with people that appreciate the help and try to make their lives better. Many people may have felt sorry for that Man as he was having such a hard time picking out items and had to have someone from an agency take him to a store. I would like to applaud him for his victory of saying something nice to a stranger and making her remember things she sometimes forgets.
