Friday was a typical day at the Julian's but everything changed during Alex's nap time. Aidan was napping, I had completed my exercising, and jumped in the shower since Aaron and I were going on a date. I decided to check on Alex when I was done, (not to mention that he checked to see where I was before all of this happened) and when I opened the door all I could see was Christmas wrapping paper everywhere. I was stunned, I don't think I even said anything but gathered up the presents and took them into the living room. I just thought, oh my goodness he's seen everything, with the exception of one present and his Santa gifts he did. He opened Daddies presents, Aidan's, and even Grandma's. The only ones he left were two that he knew were for our friends since they were a different size, I guess he remembered. I walked back into his room and all he said was, "Mommy can I have that Power Ranger movie now?" I told him I didn't know if he would get any presents and that I was very angry and he needed to stay in his room for his nap. I just didn't know what to do I was shocked. We ended up having a talk about when we open presents, why we do that, and how it was inappropriate for him to open his presents when he knew to wait until Christmas. Anyway, I won't put any more presents under the tree again until they are maybe in their teens...

Oh my goodness, Kim! Robbie and I got a huge kick out of this. I am sure it was crazy frustrating, but at least it made for a great blog entry. You are brave. It never occurred to me to put a wrapped present under the tree until Christmas morning! It sounded like you were able to handle it with alot of patience.
Last year Alex didn't touch the presents and they were under the tree but he also wasn't home all day eaither so maybe it was just too much to handle. The funny thing is that even when I wrote the blog I was in shock and the blog just seems without closure. Oh well, I've learned my lesson and it is a good story to embarass him with when he is older! Take care and Merry Christmas!
